An incredibly old 1959 vintage Château d'Yquem.

The famed Chateau d'Yquem's signature Sauternes wine is made with 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. These grapes are affected by noble rot, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the most incredible sweet wine. With a yield limited to one glass per vine, Château d'Yquem is a Sauternes wine whose rareness contributes to its prestige.

One of the world’s most prized and enviable wines, Château d’Yquem is Sauternes’ only classified Premier-Cru-Supérieur, and recognised as one of the top wines of Bordeaux.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
