User Guide: Introducing My Collection

We’re excited to introduce 'My Collection', a new way to help you manage, value, and grow your wine collection. My Collection integrates with our auction platform, providing a seamless experience for all your buying and selling activity, with everything you need in one place.

And this is just the beginning! We have lots of exciting developments and improvements coming in future releases, all designed to make managing your collection easier and even more intuitive.

How to Use Collections

Getting started with building your collection in Wine Auctioneer is quick and easy. Here’s how to add bottles to your collection and start managing them efficiently:

1. Browse Our Explore Database: Head to the Explore section and search for the bottles you’d like to add to your collection.
2. Select the Collection Shelf Icon: On both the bottle overview page and individual bottle pages, you’ll see the Collection shelf icon. Click this to add the bottle to your collection.
3. Track Key Details: When you add a bottle, essential information - such as its name, description and a valuation based on our auction history - is automatically pulled from our database, 

Can’t find your bottle in our database? Simply click the + icon in My Collection to manually add a bottle. Please note, manual entries have more limited features compared to bottles added through our database, but you can still keep everything organised.

Managing Your Collection

Once you’ve added bottles to your collection, you have full control over how they’re organised. You can:

Categorise your bottles: Create your own Groups and Tags within My Collection to sort them by theme, occasion, collection type, or any other way you like to keep them organised.

Add personal details: Record when and where you purchased each bottle, its value, your own tasting notes, and more. You can even upload your own photos to give your collection a personal touch or keep a record of condition.

Track the value: The Collections feature isn’t just about managing your bottles, it’s about empowering you with insights. You can track the value and understand your collection’s worth based on our auction results.

In My Collection, managing your bottles and making the most of your wine collection is easier than ever. Here are the key benefits for sellers:

Informed Selling Decisions: Track the value of your collection and gain a better understanding of when and what to sell, helping you make confident, well-timed decisions.

Effortless Selling Process: Easily request to sell your bottles, whether it’s a single bottle or a larger selection. Just pick the ones you want to list, and we’ll take care of the rest!

Key Benefits for Buyers

In My Collection, building and managing your collection is an enjoyable and streamlined experience. For buyers, here’s what you can expect:

Automatic Updates: When you win a lot at auction, we’ll automatically add it to your collection under 'Owned', keeping everything organised and up-to-date.

Stay in the Know: Didn’t win a bottle you were bidding on or watching? We’ll automatically add it to your Wanted list after the auction ends, so you’re always tracking the bottles you’re interested in. Plus, if it appears in a live auction we'll send an email to notify you.

Order Management for Individual Bottles: You can now easily manage order processes for individual bottles from your collection, including selecting bottles from the Stored area to arrange shipping for your stored lots.
