History

Tenuta San Guido, located in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany, Italy, was established in the mid-20th century by Mario Incisa della Rocchetta. The estate was founded with the intention of exploring the potential of Bordeaux varietals in a region traditionally known for Sangiovese-based wines, and it has since maintained a focus on expressing the distinct characteristics of its local terroir.

In the 1960s, Tenuta San Guido introduced Sassicaia, a wine produced primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
