Petrus is small estate of just 11.4 hectares (28 acres) and produces its single-varietal wine entirely from Merlot grapes. Prior to 2010, small amounts of Cabernet Franc were used in some vintages. The wines are aged in 100% new oak barrels for an average of 20 months.

Note - bottle label and capsule are heavily damaged.

Vintage Date
Description
Although we are unable to confirm the vintage date, Wine Auctioneer has gathered sufficient evidence to surmise that this wine is in all probability from the 1959 vintage. Please note that we cannot fully guarantee this date to be correct.
Heavily damaged/missing label and seal. Bottom portion of seal has been removed to authenticate cork. Cork displays all information for an authentic Petrus, however the vintage date is obscured due to sediment/staining to cork.
