Bottle Details

From the single vineyard Scharzhofberger, famed for its incredible terroir, this super-sweet Riesling is only produced in exceptional vintages and is unquestionably one of the most expensive and highly desirable wines of the world.

Only 22 75cl bottles of the Scharzhofberger Trockenbeerenauslese 2003 were produced and all originally sold for a record-breaking sum as part of the September 2015 VDP Grosser Ring Wine Presentation, a yearly auction of rare and unique wines. The Grosser Ring is a regional group of producers from the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer wine regions and is part of the wider Association of German Pradikat Wine Estates, also known as VDP, a consortium of around 200 of Germany’s top wine producers.

Egon Muller \"Scharzhofberger\" Trockenbeerenauslese 2003 Mosel

From Egon Muller's fabled single vineyard of Scharzhofberger in Germany's renowned Mosel Valley, this super-sweet Riesling is unquestionably one of the very best, most expensive and highly desirable wines of the world - leaving even the great Chateau d'Yquem in the shadows of its superior greatness!

Trockenbeerenauslese is the absolutely sweetest style of German wine and an utterly rare delight.
