The mountainous Central Otago wine region is located close to the bottom of New Zealand's South Island and is New Zealand's southernmost region. Today, it is divided into six winemaking sub-regions; Bannockburn, Cromwell Bason, Wanaka, Alexandra, Bendigo, and Gibbston. The region is renowned for it's Pinot Noir which accounts for the majority of the areas production, however the areas white varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc are also popular.

Known today as Château Labégorce, the winery was formerly known as three separate estates; Château Labégorce-Margaux, Château Labégorce-Zédé and L’Abbé Grosse de Grosse. The Perrodo family bought all three properties from the late 1980s-2000s and reunited them as one. 

Margaux is a famed appellation located in the Haut-Médoc district of in the Right Bank of Bordeaux, southwestern France. The wine is predominantly made from Cabernet Sauvignon either as a single varietal or blended with a select combination of other permitted grapes: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Carmenère, Petit Verdot and Malbec.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

Cockburn’s is one of the greatest names in Port, established by Scotsman Robert Cockburn in 1815, who returned to Portugal after first visiting the country as a soldier.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
