Dow's 1985 Vintage Port 4x75cl

1985 vintage Port from the house of Dow's. Bottled in 1987.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

One of the great houses of Port- the name Dow has been associated with quality Port wine from the vineyards of the Upper Douro Valley for over two centuries.

Dom Pérignon 2003 Vintage Champagne / David Lynch

2003 vintage Champagne from Moët & Chandon's prestige brand, Dom Pérignon. This is a limited edition release was designed by renowned film maker director David Lynch. 

Dom Pérignon is only available as a vintage champagne and is only produced in exceptional years.  Each vintage is made from an approximate blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from many grapes from Grand Cru vineyards.

Rathfinny 'Traditional Method' Blanc-de-Blancs 2018 English Sparkling 11x75cl

From the Rathfinny estate located in the English county of Sussex, this 2018 vintage sparkling wine has been made in the style - and same, traditional process- of Champagne, from France. Disgorged in 2022.

Of all non-Champagne sparkling wines, many of those produced in the south of England come closest in terms of style and quality.  With similarities in soils and climates, grape varieties (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) which grow well, and method of production, it is natural that flavour will follow also.

Blanc-de-Blancs wines are made exclusively from white grapes- most commonly 100% Chardonnay.

Domaine Gourt de Mautens 'Jérôme Bressy' 2003 Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Rasteau 6x75cl

Grenache dominant blend (80%) from the village of Rasteau in the southern Rhône Valley regional appellation of Côtes-du-Rhône Villages.

Since 2009, Rasteau has been officially recognised as an appellation in its own right.

Ratti 'Abbazia Dell' annunziata' 1965 Barolo 3x72cl

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes-, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low

The vineyards of Domaine Du Vieux Telegraphe are located on the celebrated plateau, La Crau, where vines have an average age of sixty years. Vieux Télégraphe has been owned by the Brunier family since 1891 and is one of the most renowned estates in the Southern Rhône Valley.

Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) 'Réserve Spéciale' 1990 Pauillac 3x75cl

From the Pauillac appellation and ranked as one of the original four 1st Growths (1er-Cru) in the famed 1855 Classification of Medoc, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates.

This bottle of Domaine Barons De Rothschild (Lafite) \"Reserve Speciale\" is made from grapes grown on younger vines within the historic vineyards of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild.

Domaine Arnaud Ente 2009 Volnay-Santenots-du-Milieu 1er-Cru

Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru climat of Santenots-Du-Milieu within the classic Burgundian appellation of Volnay.

The Volnay AOC was created in 1937 and is a located in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or.  The appellation applies to red wine made from Pinot Noir although up to 15% of the white wine grape Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris are permitted in the blends- although this is rarely utilised by producers. Almost 30 Premier Cru vineyards can be found within Volnay. 

R. Lopez de Heredia Viña Tondonia 'Viña Gravonia' 1990 Rioja Blanco

100% Viura (aka Macabeo) from the northern Spanish DOC of Rioja; matured in oak barrels for approximately 4 years.

Established by Don Rafael López de Heredia in 1877, R. López de Heredia is one of the most well known and respected wineries in Rioja today. An interesting note- when the term \"Reserva\" was defined in the 1970s, the owner of Viña Tondonia, Don Pedro López Heredia, objected on the grounds that the new terms were too lenient - even his most basic wine far exceeding the \"Gran Reserva\" requirements - and so refused to use the new classifications on his labels.

The great Domaine Jean Gros was divided between Jean's three children upon his retirement and the new Domaines: Anne-Françoise's Gros (A.-F. Gros), Domaine Michel Gros and Domaine Gros Frère & Soeur, were created.

The renowned Vosne-Romanée appellation is located in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits and famed for it's high quality wines made from Pinot Noir. Romain Hénin 'Le Gamin du Terroir' Brut Nature NV Champagne / 2023

The Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes vineyard lies adjacent to the Premier-Cru site of the same name in Meursault. The Meursault section is classified Premier-Cru however the Puligny-Montrachet is not.

R. López de Heredia 'Tondonia' 1970 Rioja 2x75cl

Tempranillo dominant red wine from the famed Rioja region in northern Spain.

Established by Don Rafael López de Heredia in 1877, R. López de Heredia (Viña Tondonia) is one of the most well known and respected wineries in Rioja today. It is the oldest winery in the emblematic town of Haro and one of the first three set up in La Rioja. It continues to be a family run estate with the fourth generation now running the business. 

Rioja is arguably Spain's top wine region and is one of only two regions classified under the Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) system. Other than Tempranillo and Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) are also used in the red wines of Rioja.

Pinot Noir from the Burgundian Grand Cru vineyard and appellation of Charmes-Chambertin within the greater commune of Gevrey-Chambertin.

The renowned Charmes-Chambertin Grand-Cru vineyard and appellation is located the Southern part of Gevrey-Chambertin within the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy and can produce some of the world's most iconic wines. The appellation is permitted to produce only red wine from Pinot Noir grapes, although regulations allow up to 15% of the white wine grapes; Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc to be blended into the red wine, however this is rarley practised.

Domaines Ott 'Étoile' Rosé 2020 Vin de France 3x75cl

Rosé made from a 80% Grenache with Mourvèdre grapes from the national French classification of Vin de France.

Vin de France (formerly Vin de Table prior to 2009) is the national French appellation in which the producer is not required to comply with appellation laws and traditional regional constraints. The winemaker has the freedom to create their wines from anywhere in France from different regions, vintages and from unsanctioned grape varieties or blends. The quality of these wines can vary drastically from uncomplicated basic wines to high-quality diverse wines that command a high price.

Domaine Michel Gros 'Clos des Réas' Monopole 2002 Vosne-Romanée 1er-Cru

Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru walled-vineyard of Clos des Réas in the Burgundian appellation of Vosne-Romanée.

This is the flagship wine of the Domaine Michel Gros estate. Clos des Réas has been operated as a monopoly by the Gros family since its acquisition in 1860.

The acclaimed Domaine Robert Arnoux was established in 1858. Today, it is run by Charles Lachaux who represents the family's sixth generation. From the 2007 vintage, the wines from this Domaine have been labelled under the name Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux.

Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru vineyard of Clos du Val within the Burgundian appellation of Auxey-Duresses.

Domaine Taupenot-Merme matures their wine for approximately 10 months and uses 25% new French oak for their village wines and up to 40% for the grand and premier cru.
