Syrah from the lesser-known Northern Rhône Valley appellation of Saint-Joseph.

Maison Chapoutier is without doubt one of the oldest and most renowned names in the Rhône producing some of the finest Hermitage. Today Chapoutier is both a negociant and wine maker and are active all over the Rhone valley in every major appellation owning close to 25% of the entire appellation.

Saint-Joseph is the second-largest appellation in the Northern Rhône. The red wines must be made from a minimum of 90% Syrah, and can have up to 10% of the white wine grape Marsanne or Roussanne included- generally the wines are made from 100% Syrah.

1963 vintage port from the house of Morgan Brothers LTD. Bottled 1965.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house.

The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

Paul Jaboulet is one of the most prominent names in the Rhône and Hermitage. La Chapelle is their flagship wine, made from 100% Syrah from a blend from their top sites including the acclaimed vineyards of Les Bessards, Le Meal and Les Rocoules. The estate also produce a \"La Chapelle blanc\" which is made from 100% Marsanne grapes. 

Hermitage or Ermitage is a small but world-renowned appellation located in the Northern Rhône, responsible for some of France's most prestigious red wines made from Syrah. Though typically made with 100% Syrah, regulations allow the addition of up to 15% of the white grapes Marsanne and Roussanne to be included. White wine is also produced in Hermitage in smaller quantities.

Amarone della Valpolicella is one of Italy's most iconic wines.  As with all Valpolicellas, the wine is a blend of the Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella grape varieties.  

Amarone is produced through a process of partially rack-drying grapes for several months prior to fermentation, resulting in a wine of atypical power, concentration and alcohol content with an ability to benefit from long periods of maturation.

This wine is from the Classico sub-region which is deemed to produce wines of particularly esteemed quality.

100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan town of Montalcino; Classed as a Riserva this wine must have been matured for a minimum of 6 years with a minimum of 2 years in wood and 6 months in bottle.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy. The wine must be made from 100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years before release.

Purple Angel is a renowned blend of 92% Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot from Chile's Colchagua valley. Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels.

Viña Montes was founded in 1988 initially under the name Discover Wine Ltda. The grapes for Purple Angel come from Montes' own vineyards in Apalta and Marchigüe.

Carmenère is the long-lost grape variety that recently resurfaced in Chile after being presumed extinct in Bordeaux, its original home. It is considered one of Chile's ‘signature’ varieties where it is often referred to as the ‘Jurassic Park’ grape that returned from the past.

Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru vineyard of la Combe aux Moines within the famed Burgundian appellation of Gevrey-Chambertin.

Gevrey-Chambertin is the largest wine-producing village in Burgundy's Côte d'Or. The renowned region is home to 26 Premier Cru and 9 Grand-Cru climats which can produce some of the world's most sought-after wines. The appellation is permitted to produce only red wine from Pinot Noir grapes, although regulations allow up to 15% of the white wine grapes; Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc to be blended into the red wine, however this is rarley practised. 

La Combe aux Moines is one of the most highly regarded Premier Cru vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin.

Today Penfolds offer a huge variety of wines ranging from entry-level to premier offerings such as their flagship \"Grange\". On its 50th birthday in 2001, Grange was listed as a South Australian heritage icon.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
