Valriz 1958 Colheita Port / bottled 1984
Colheita Port is a single vintage-dated Tawny Port, similar to Vintage Port in that it is produced from the crop of a single exceptional year. However, while Vintage Ports spend only a brief 2 years in large oak vats and the majority of their ageing in bottle, Colheita Ports are matured exclusively in smaller oak barrels for a minimum of seven years- although it is not uncommon that they are aged for much longer, as many as 50 to 100 years.
Portugal
Portugal is a well-known wine producing country, with a long history of winemaking dating back to 2000 BC when vines were cultivated by the Tartessians.
