St Hallett Old Block Shiraz 1998
Old-vine Shiraz from the renowned Barossa Valley in South Australia.
Old Block was first made in 1980 from the St Hallett Old Block vineyard. To qualify for the Old Block Shiraz, the vineyards must be planted on their own rootstock and be more than 50 years of age. The oldest vineyard used to create this wine was planted in 1856 whilst the youngest 1963.
Shiraz
Shiraz (also known as Syrah) is a red wine grape noted for its bold, spicy flavours and dark fruit character. Thriving in warm climates, it yields rich, full-bodied wines with hints of pepper and plum. Widely grown globally, it adapts well to various winemaking styles.
