Krohn 1978 Colheita Port
Colheita Port is similar to Vintage Port in that it is produced from the crop of a single exceptional year. However, while Vintage Ports spend only a brief 2 years in large oak vats and the majority of their ageing in bottle, Colheita Ports are matured exclusively in smaller oak barrels for as many years as the producer deems necessary.

Originally named Wiese & Krohn, this Port House was founded in 1865 by two young Norwegians cousins, Theodor Wiese and Dankert Krohn. Since then, the firm has built up an outstanding reputation for its old cask-aged Ports, in particular its ‘Colheitas’ or single harvest tawnies.
