Killahora Orchards Rare Apple Icewine 2018

Ice wine is a particularly decadent style of sweet wine, in which the grapes (or in this case apples) are left of their vines for an extended period of time, well into the winter, and are only picked - by hand and in the middle of the night - after a suitable period of constant cold temperatures. The water content within the grapes thus freezes and the grapes are carefully pressed shortly after picking to draw only the sweet sugary pulp.
United Kingdom
The United Kingdom is not widely known for its wine production, however there are small-scale wineries in England, Scotland and Wales that are producing wine using traditional and innovative techniques.
