Shiraz from the renowned Barossa Valley in South Australia made using the Appassimento style: matured for approximately 24 months in French oak.
Appassimento wines are produced through a process of partially rack-drying grapes to increase concentration of both natural grape flavours and sugars. The result is a wine of atypical power, concentration and alcohol content with an ability to benefit from long periods of maturation.
Shiraz (also known as Syrah) is a red wine grape noted for its bold, spicy flavours and dark fruit character. Thriving in warm climates, it yields rich, full-bodied wines with hints of pepper and plum. Widely grown globally, it adapts well to various winemaking styles.
Australia is a major wine-producing country, particularly renowned for its wines from the Barossa Valley and Coonawarra regions.
