Old-vine Shiraz from the McLaren Vale wine-region, just south of Adelaide.
d’Arenbergs flagship wine, Dead Arm Shiraz, takes it's name from the Dead Arm vine disease caused by the fungus Eutypa Lata. One half of the vine slowly becomes reduced to dead wood when the grapes on the other side, while low yielding, display higher intensity.
D'Arenberg is an Australian wine company founded in 1912. All of its vineyards are located in South Australia's McLaren Vale wine region. It is now owned by the fourth generation of the Osborn family, headed by Chester Osborn.
Shiraz (also known as Syrah) is a red wine grape noted for its bold, spicy flavours and dark fruit character. Thriving in warm climates, it yields rich, full-bodied wines with hints of pepper and plum. Widely grown globally, it adapts well to various winemaking styles.
Australia is a major wine-producing country, particularly renowned for its wines from the Barossa Valley and Coonawarra regions.
