Alexandre Méa, a fifth generation champagne producer family from the village of Champillon, founded Carbon in 2011 with the first bottles being released in 2013.

Château La Conseillante 2014 Pomerol

Château La Conseillante is one of the iconic wines and wineries in Pomerol. It is a Merlot dominant blend from the right-bank of Bordeaux; matured for approximately 18 months in a combination of new and second use French Oak barrels.

The Chateau's vineyards are planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc - a ratio in which the wines can be expected to follow with slight vintage variation.

The Champy family created their namesake négociant house in Beaune in 1720. Over three centuries later, the house has become internationally renowned and produces a wide range of wines from several regions.

From the appellation of Margaux, Château Rauzan-Gassies is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured for 12-14 months in French Oak barrels.

Cabernet Sauvignon makes up a minimum of three quarters of the final blend of Château Rauzan-Gassies.

Château Cissac 1989 Haut-Medoc 2x75cl

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the Bordeaux sub-region of Haut-Médoc; Aged for 18-20 months in 30-40% new French oak. 

The Cru Bourgeois estate of Château Cissac has been in the hands of the Vialard family since 1895 and is currently run by the 5th generation. The family also owns the neighbouring estate of Chateau du Breuil.

Château Gruaud-Larose 1978 St-Julien 2eme-Cru / Cordier

From the Bordeaux left-bank appellation of Saint-Julien, Château Gruaud-Larose is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc.

The wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; matured for 16-18 months in oak barrels. New oak use has increased from around 30% in the 1990s to around 90% in the 2000s. 

This is a bottling by the historic French négociants, Cordier.

Cullen Diana Madeline 2018 Wilyabrup, Margaret River

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Bordeaux style blend from the Wilyabrup  sub-region of the larger Margaret River wine-region of Western Australia; Matured for 15 months in 50% new French Oak barriques.

Diana Madeline is the flagship wine of Cullen. This 2018 vintage is made from a blend of; 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec.

Château Musar 1997 Bekaa Valley

Château Musar Red is a blend comprising of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley; Aged in French oak for 12 months. 

Château Musar was created in 1930 by Gaston Hochar. In recent years Château Musar has become the first producer in Lebanon to achieve organic certification for its vineyards. Today the Chateau is one of the leading wineries increasing wide-spread recognition of Lebanon's wines and wine-history.

Château Cantemerle 2009 Haut-Médoc 5eme-Cru 2x75cl

From the Haut-Médoc appellation, Château Cantemerle was recognised as a 5th Growth (5eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Charles Viénot 1969 Richebourg Grand-Cru

Mature Pinot Noir from the famed Burgundian Grand Cru vineyard and appellation of Richebourg, within the subregion of the Côte-de-Nuits.

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey​ 1996 Sauternes 1er-Cru 2x75cl

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey was ranked, as part of the former Chateau Peyraguey, as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Gironde.

The vineyard of Lafaurie-Peyraguey lies on Sauternes' high gravel terrace, 70 m above sea level, next to Château d'Yquem. The estate matures it's Sauternes for 18-19 months in 40-70% new French oak barrels. 

The wines of Sauternes are produced from a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally a small amount of Muscadelle, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the most incredible sweet wine.

Château Talbot 1974 Saint-Julien 4eme-Cru / Cordier

One of the most recognisable wine estates in Bordeaux, Château Talbot is typically a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend along with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc; Aged for approximately 18 months in small oak barriques (50% new).

Château Talbot is a 4th Growth (4eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, and is renowned for its consistency and ageing ability.

Château Calon-Ségur 1988 Saint-Estèphe 3eme-Cru

From the Bordeaux appellation of Saint-Estèphe, Château Calon-Ségur is a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc. The Château is home to one of the few walled vineyards in the Left Bank and is the most northerly of all the Médoc Grand-Crus Classés.

Typically a classic Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon dominance, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot; Matured in 100% new oak barrels for 18-20 months.

Château de Monthelie 'Eric de Suremain' 1993 Monthélie 7x75cl

Pinot Noir from within the Burgundian appellation of Monthélie.

The small appellation of Monthélie was created in 1937 in the Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy. The village is home to only around 200 residents. Monthélie produces mainly red wines from Pinot Noir although a small amount (around 10%) of production is of white wine made from Chardonnay.

Clarendon Hills 'Liandra Vineyard' Syrah 2001 Australia 3x75cl

Single-vineyard Syrah from the Clarendon Hills estate, located just north-east of McLaren Vale, to the south of Adelaide, Australia.

Founded in 1989, Clarendon Hills is a small but renowned family-run winery specialising in single vineyard wines. This wine comes from the renowned Hickinbotham vineyard situated on the high elevation hills of Clarendon, planted in the early 1970s.

Château Rieussec 2006 Sauternes 1er-Cru 2x75cl

Once belonging to the Carmelite monks in Langon, the renowned Château Rieussec is now owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), since they purchased the estate in 1984. Chateau Rieussec was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Château Smith Haut Lafitte 1988 Pessac-Léognan Grand-Cru

Located in the town of Martillac to the south of Bordeaux, Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte is a Grand Cru Classe estate, ranked within the 1959 Classification of Graves (known as Pessac-Léognan after 1987).

Their wine is a blend of; Cabernet Sauvignon (55-65%), Merlot and Cabernet Franc; matured for 12-18 months in approximately 60% new French Oak barrels.

Crocker & Starr 'Stone Place Cuvée' 2000 Napa Valley 3x75cl

From a single vineyard this is a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from California's renowned Napa Valley: matured for 20 months in mostly new French oak barrels.

The Napa Valley wine region is arguably California's best known wine producing area, famed for its Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style blends. It was officially recognised for its high-quality wines and distinctive regional terroir when it became California’s first American Viticultural Area (AVA) in 1981.

Merlot from California's renowned Napa Valley: matured in new French oak barrels.

Château Lagrange 1978 Saint-Julien 3eme-Cru 150cl

From the appellation of Saint-Julien, Château Lagrange is a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc; Aged for approximately 20 months in 50% new French oak. 

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend featuring a substantial volume Merlot; matured in French oak barrels for 20 months.

Today Château Lagrange is owned by the Japanese liquor giant Suntory. Confusingly there is an unrelated estate of the same name located in the appellation of Pomerol.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.
