Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy.  100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years before release.

Semi-sweet white wine blend made from Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner and Kerner grapes from the single vineyard, Schlosskapelle, by the village of Burg Layen in the Nahe region in south-western Germany.

Kabinett is the lightest style of German wine. It is made from grapes which were picked at full ripeness (but not late-harvested) and the style typically ranges from dry to off-dry with well balanced residual sweetness and acidity.

Semi-sweet white wine made from Kerner grapes from the Pfalz wine-region of south-western Germany.

The Premier Cru vineyard of Paul Goerg is located in Vertus, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. Their vintage Champagne is made up of 85% Chardonnay with Pinot Noir and is aged for 9 years prior to release.

Paul Reitz 'Lavaux Saint-Jacques' 1981 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er-Cru

Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru vineyard of Lavaux Saint-Jaques within the Burgundian appellation of Gevrey-Chambertin.

Gevrey-Chambertin is the largest wine-producing village in Burgundy's Côte d'Or. The renowned region is home to 26 Premier Cru and 9 Grand-Cru climats which can produce some of the world's most sought-after wines. The appellation is permitted to produce only red wine from Pinot Noir grapes, although regulations allow up to 15% of the white wine grapes; Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc to be blended into the red wine, however this is rarley practised.

Vin de France (formerly Vin de Table prior to 2009) is the national French appellation in which the producer is not required to comply with appellation laws and traditional regional constraints. The quality of these wines can vary drastically from uncomplicated basic wines to high-quality diverse wines that command a high price.

Sweet white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Graves Superieur (Graves Supérieures) appellation in Bordeaux. 

The grapes for this wine were affected by the \"Noble Rot\", botrytis cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the most incredible sweet wine. Sélections de Grains Nobles wines must have a specific high sugar content when harvested and can only be sold after ageing for 18 months.

Orange Wine made from the white wine grape, Albarino produced in Monmouth, Wales: aged for 10 months in old Austrian oak. 

Orange wines, also known as skin contact wines or amber wines, are a type of white wine which is made in much the same way as a red wine. The grape skins are not removed as is the typical white wine making process which can drastically change the common expected flavour and makes the wine colour darker, orange and/or cloudy. Orange wines are known to divide opinion.

Bonnezeaux is a renowned appellation for sweet white wine produced from Chenin Blanc grapes within the Anjou district in the western Loire Valley of France.

Produced in much the same process as Sauternes, the grapes are affected by botrytis cinerea (aka \"Noble Rot\") which inflicts dehydration and thus a concentration of the sugary pulp which is then pressed and fermented.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
