Sérafin Père & Fils 'Les Millandes' 2009 Morey-St-Denis 1er-Cru

Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Millandes in the Burgundian appellation of Morey-Saint-Denis.

Les Millandes is one of the largest Premier Cru vineyards in central Morey-Saint-Denis and is planted entirley with Pinot Noir. 

Sandeman 1970 Vintage Port

A 1970 vintage Port from renowned producer, Sandeman. Bottled in 1972.

The famous House of Sandeman was created in 1790 by Scotsman, George Sandeman and has continuously been making and shipping ports around the world for more than 200 years. Their famous logo featuring a caped man named \"The Don\" makes this the most well known brand of port in the world.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

Aldo Conterno Granbussia 1974 Barolo

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes-, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

Granbussia is made from old vines in the Bussia vineyards within Monforte d'Alba and is matured for a over 30 months in oak casks and cellard for a further 6 years prior to release. 

Symington Family Estates 'Quinta do Vesuvio' 1996 Vintage Port

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

Quinta do Vesúvio can trace it's history back to 1827. It was purchased by renowned Port family, Symington in 1989.

Alvear Pedro Ximenez Dulce Viejo 1927 Montilla-Moriles

This sweet wine from the mountainous region of Montilla Moriles, located in northern Andalusia, Spain, is made in much the same styles and processes as Sherry, though unlike sherry it is not fortified. 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes are dried in the sun, then left to age in a tradition system of soleras and criaderas.

Symington Family Estates 'Quinta do Vesuvio' 1998 Vintage Port

San Felice \"Il Grigio\" 1969 Chianti Classico Riserva 6x75cl

Sangiovese dominant blend from the iconic wine-region of Chianti in the heart of Tuscany.

Chianti Classico wines must contain a minimum of 80% of Sangiovese. The remainder can be made from native grapes such as Canaiolo or Colorino, as well as international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Wines made only from Sangiovese have been permitted since 1996.

Classed as a Chianti Classico Riserva, this wine must have been aged for a minimum of 24 months including 3 months of bottle ageing.

Assorted Williams & Humbert 12 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Sherry Spain 4x50cl

Pedro Ximénez sherry is produced from both the Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel grapes, picked late at fully concentrated sugar ripeness, part-fermented before fortification with grape-spirit and matured through fractional-blending in the traditional solera and criaderas system. The result is a seriously dark, seriously sweet sherry of sheer decadence.

Sherry is exclusively produced in the region of Jerez, Spain. It is made from three traditional white wine grapes only. The Palomino grape is the most commonly used along with Moscatel and Pedro Ximénez.

Au Bon Climat 'Los Alamos Vineyard' 2016 Santa Barbara County / Historic Vineyards Collection

Single vineyard Chardonnay the wine region of Santa Barbara County, located north of the city of Santa Barbara, California.

The 459 acre Los Alamo vineyard is located 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean and is planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Smith Woodhouse & Co. 1974 LBV Port

1974 Late Bottled Vintage from the renowned house of Taylor's. Bottled in 1978.

Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port is a specific style of Ruby Port in which the fortified wine - from a single, specified vintage - is aged for an extended period of time before bottling. Unlike Vintage Ports, LBV Ports do not continue to mature in the bottle.

Schubert Maximin Grünhäuser 'Abtsberg' Riesling Spatlese 1983 Mosel

Sweet Riesling from the single vineyard, Herrenberg, by the commune of Maximin Grunhaus in the outskirts of Mertesdorf on the southern bank of the famous Mosel river.

Spätlese is the the lightest of the German late harvest wines, produced from slightly-late-harvested grapes and may be either sweet or dry. If “Trocken” is noted on the label you can assume it's a dry style.

Signae 2008 Sagrantino di Montefalco 2x75cl

Red wine made from 100% Sagrantino grapes from the town of Montefalco, in the Umbria region of central Italy; matured for 24 months in French oak barriques followed by 8 months bottle ageing prior to release. 

The appellation of Sagrantino di Montefalco is know from 2009 as Montefalco Sagrantino.

Tempranillo dominant red wine from the famed Rioja region in northern Spain; Classified as a Gran Reserva, this wine was matured for a minimum period of 5 years including a minimum of 24 months in oak barrels.

This lot contains the following;

• Castillo San Lorenzo 1994 Rioja Gran Reserva - 12.5%
• Muriel 1996 Rioja Gran Reserva 13%
• Berberana 1988 Rioja Gran Reserva 12.5%

Rioja is arguably Spain's top wine region and is one of only two regions classified under the Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) system. Other than Tempranillo and Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) are also used in the red wines of Rioja.

Assorted Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey​ Sauternes 1er-Cru / Cordier 2x75cl

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey was ranked, as part of the former Chateau Peyraguey, as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Gironde.

The vineyard of Lafaurie-Peyraguey lies on Sauternes' high gravel terrace, 70 m above sea level, next to Château d'Yquem. The estate matures it's Sauternes for 18-19 months in 40-70% new French oak barrels. 

The wines of Sauternes are produced from a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally a small amount of Muscadelle, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the one of the worlds most sought after sweet wines.

1977 vintage Port from the house of Smith Woodhouse & Co. 

The small Port house of Smith Woodhouse & Co. was founded in 1784 by Christopher Smith M.P. and Lord Mayor of London. Their small 5-hectare vineyard is located in the heart of the sheltered Rio Torto Valley. Today the company is part of the Symington family of ports who also own iconic port houses such as; Graham's, Cockburn's, Dow's and Warre's & co.

Altesino 1989 Brunello di Montalcino

100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan town of Montalcino.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy.  100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years before release.
