1970 vintage Port from the house of Cockburns.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

Cockburn’s is one of the greatest names in Port, established by Scotsman Robert Cockburn in 1815, who returned to Portugal after first visiting the country as a soldier.

An incredibly old 1947 vintage from Château Léoville-Barton.

Château Leoville-Barton is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate which lies within the iconic terroir of Saint Julien in the Médoc. It is now one of only two chateau's from the 1855 Classification of the Medoc that remains in the hands of the same family that owned it at the time it was classified.

This wine is a typical Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon dominance (70-87%) with Merlot and Cabernet Franc; matured in a combination of new and used oak barrels for a period of 16-18 months.

Château ​Brane-Cantenac is a 2nd Growth (2ème Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Typically a classic Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (40-60%), Merlot (35-55%) and Cabernet Franc (5-10%); matured in French Oak barrels for 18 months.

Brane-Cantenac has been producing wine since the 17th century-initially under the name of Domaine Guilhem H. Hostei. It has since belonged to the Lurton family since 1920. The estate also produces a second wine named Baron de Brane, also a label named Château Notton, and a regional Margaux.

Château de Pommard's Clos Marey-Monge Monopole is their signature wine made from a blend of all seven vineyards of the Clos and aged for approximately 20 months in 30% new french oak barrels.

Created in 1937, the Pommard wine region, known for it's powerful and full- bodied wine, is located Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy, immediately next to neighbouring Volnay. The region is home to over 25 Premier Cru vineyards and produces red wine only made from Pinot Noir grapes. Regulations allow for up to 15% of Chardonnay, Pinot blanc and Pinot gris as accessory grapes- although this is rarely utilised.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
