Brovia Villero 2018 Barolo 3x75cl

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes-, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

Bollinger 'B13' 2013 Vintage Champagne

B13 is a 2013 vintage, Blanc-de-Noirs Champagne from the renowned House of Bollinger: aged for 7 years on lees and has a low dosage of 6 grams per litre.

Founded in 1829 initially under the name Renaudin Bollinger & Cie, Bollinger is one of the last independent Champagne houses. The house continues to be run by members of the Bollinger family to this day. The House’s 178 hectares are planted with 85% of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vines, the majority of which are Pinot Noir which is dominant in their wines. 

Blanc De Noirs translates to \"white from black\" and is a sparkling white wine which is produced exclusively from two permitted black grapes, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier.

Assorted Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet-Shiraz South Australia 2x75cl

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from South Australia.

First made in 1960, Bin 389 is often referred to as ‘Baby Grange’ because components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange.

Penfolds is one of Australia's great iconic wineries and has been making world renowned wines since 1844. It was established at Magill Estate in the Adelaide Hills in 1844 by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary who In the early years, produced and sold fortified wines. Today Penfolds offer a huge variety of wines ranging from entry-level to premier offerings such as their flagship \"Grange\". On its 50th birthday in 2001, Grange was listed as a South Australian heritage icon.

Boyer-Martenot 'Les Narvaux' 1995 Meursault 5x75cl

Chardonnay from the single vineyard of Les Narvaux, in the iconic Burgundian appellation of Meursault.

Located in the in the Côte de Beaune sub-region, Meursault is considered to be the capital of Burgundy's great white wines. The appellation almost exclusively produces white wine made from Chardonnay, however a small amount red wine made from Pinot Noir can be found from the area.

Assorted Château Guiraud 1990s Sauternes 1er-Cru 3x75cl

From the appellation of Sauternes, Château Guiraud was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc. 

The wines of Sauternes are produced from a blend of the white wine grapes Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally a small amount of Muscadelle, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the one of the worlds most sought after sweet wines.

This lot contains one each of the 1995, 1997 and 1998 vintage.

Billecart-Salmon was established in 1818 and has remained independent and family-owned ever since. Whilst it is most renowned for it's Rosé Champagne it also produces a variety of other styles and ranges.

Amandio Silva & Filhos 1953 Old Tawny Port

1953 Tawny Port from the house of Amandio Silva & Filhos.

Tawny Port is a particular style of Port in which the fortified wines are aged for a number of years in small oak casks.  This process of deliberate and careful oxidative maturation imparts typical characteristics of stewed fruits, nuts and leather. Tawny port are non-vintage wines which come in various styles, primarily recognised by the length of time the wine has been aged. The wines do not age or improve further upon bottling. 

Benjamin Rothschild & Vega Sicilia \"Macan\" 2018 Rioja 2x75cl

Tempranillo dominant red wine from the Rioja region in northern Spain.

Rioja is arguably Spain's top wine region and is one of only two regions classified under the Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) system. Other than Tempranillo and Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) are also used in the red wines of Rioja.

Antinori 'Guado Al Tasso' 1998 Bolgheri Superiore

Guado Al Tasso is a \"Super-Tuscan\" by nature of being made from grape varieties not native to Tuscany

The wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc occasionally with a small amount of Petit Verdot ; matured for 14 months in small oak barrels with a further 10 months in bottle prior to release. 

The Guado al Tasso estate (previously named Tenuta Belvedere) is located in the small Bolgheri DOC and is part of the famed Marchesi Antinori portfolio. Marchesi Antinori is one of Tuscany’s most iconic producers and can trace its history back to 1385 with twenty-six generations of the Antinori family personally managing the business.

Berry Bros and Rudd 1970 Vintage Port / Berry's Own Selection

1970 vintage Port from renowned London wine and spirit merchants, Berry Brothers & Rudd. Bottled in 1972.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

Ben Glaetzer 'Amon-Ra' Shiraz 2005 Barossa Valley

Amon-Ra, one of the Barossa Valley's iconic wines, is produced from old-vine Shiraz (50-130 years old) from the famed Ebenezer sub district at the northern tip of the Barossa Valley.  Matured for 16 months in 100% new oak hogshead barrels.

This family-owned boutique winery was founded in 1995, today the winery is run by respected winemaker Ben Glaetzer.  Ben sources all fruit from the northern sub-region of the Barossa, Ebenezer, which is known for its ancient dry-grown vineyards. 

Named after the ancient Egyptian god Amon-Ra who is considered to be the king of all gods.

Aldo Conterno Granbussia 1974 Barolo

Granbussia is made from old vines in the Bussia vineyards within Monforte d'Alba and is matured for a over 30 months in oak casks and cellard for a further 6 years prior to release. 

Biondi-Santi 'Vino De Tavola Greppo' 1981 Tuscany 2x75cl

Biondi-Santi is one of the world's greatest wine estates with a long and fascinating history. It produces three wines: Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, made from the oldest vines on the Il Greppo estate, and only in exceptional years.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot from the Tuscan (Toscana) wine-region of Italy.

Bodegas Bilbainas 'Vina Pomal' 1964 Rioja Gran Reserva Especial

Alvear Pedro Ximenez Dulce Viejo 1927 Montilla-Moriles

This sweet wine from the mountainous region of Montilla Moriles, located in northern Andalusia, Spain, is made in much the same styles and processes as Sherry, though unlike sherry it is not fortified. 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes are dried in the sun, then left to age in a tradition system of soleras and criaderas.

Bodega Numanthia 2003 Toro

Seriously old vine 100% Tinta De Toro (aka Tempranillo) from the Toro region in Castilla y León, Spain.

Termanthia is the flagship wine of Bodega Numanthia and is produced from old vine aged up to 200 years of age. 

Assorted Williams & Humbert 12 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Sherry Spain 4x50cl

Pedro Ximénez sherry is produced from both the Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel grapes, picked late at fully concentrated sugar ripeness, part-fermented before fortification with grape-spirit and matured through fractional-blending in the traditional solera and criaderas system. The result is a seriously dark, seriously sweet sherry of sheer decadence.

Sherry is exclusively produced in the region of Jerez, Spain. It is made from three traditional white wine grapes only. The Palomino grape is the most commonly used along with Moscatel and Pedro Ximénez.

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey was ranked, as part of the former Chateau Peyraguey, as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Gironde.

The vineyard of Lafaurie-Peyraguey lies on Sauternes' high gravel terrace, 70 m above sea level, next to Château d'Yquem. The estate matures it's Sauternes for 18-19 months in 40-70% new French oak barrels. 

The wines of Sauternes are produced from a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally a small amount of Muscadelle, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the one of the worlds most sought after sweet wines.
