While the house is headquartered in Reims, a new winery is being developed at the Clos d'Ambonnay site and is due to open in 2023. Although no longer owned by the Krugs, the family is still heavily involved with sixth-generation Olivier Krug Director of the House today.

Kanonkop 'Paul Sauer' 2015 Stellenbosch 150cl

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend from South Africa's renowned Stellenbosch wine-region; Matured for 24 months in new 225 litre French oak nevers.

Named after Paul Sauer, who was elected to Parliament in the same year that he became owner of Kanonkop. 

This 2015 vintage Paul Sauer marked South Africa's first 100-point wine which was awarded by Tim Atkin. A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Antinori 'Guado Al Tasso' 1997 Bolgheri Superiore 3x75cl

Guado Al Tasso is a \"Super-Tuscan\" by nature of being made from grape varieties not native to Tuscany

The wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc occasionally with a small amount of Petit Verdot ; matured for 14 months in small oak barrels with a further 10 months in bottle prior to release. 

The Guado al Tasso estate (previoulsy named Tenuta Belvedere) is located in the small Bolgheri DOC and is part of the famed Marchesi Antinori portfolio. Marchesi Antinori is one of Tuscany’s most iconic producers and can trace its history back to 1385 with twenty-six generations of the Antinori family personally managing the business.

Aldo Conterno 'Gran Bussia' 2009 Barolo Riserva 

Barolo, often referred to as \"The King Of Wines\" is always made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, as a Riserva classification, this wine was matured in oak for a minimum period of 36 months- traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks.

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piedmont, most of the estates are small and family-owned and so production is low.

Krug 169eme Edition Grande Cuvee Brut NV Champagne

Non-vintage Champagne from the iconic House of Krug. 

This 169ème Édition is made from a blend of 146 wines from 11 different years, the youngest of which is from 2013, while the oldest dates back to 2000. Matured for around 7 years prior to being disgorged. 

The renowned Champagne house of Krug was founded by Johann-Joseph Krug in 1843 and has since been in the hands of the family for six generations.

Krohn 1957 Colheita Port / Bottled 1978

1957 Colheita Port from the house of Krohn. Bottled in 1978.

Colheita Port is a single vintage-dated Tawny Port. It is similar to Vintage Port in that it is produced from the crop of a single exceptional year.  However, while Vintage Ports spend only a brief 2 years in large oak vats and the majority of their ageing in bottle, Colheita Ports are matured exclusively in smaller oak barrels for a minimum of seven years- although it is not uncommon that they are aged for much longer, as many as 50 to 100 years. 

Krohn Port House was founded in 1865 by two Norwegian cousins. Over the following 150 years, the firm built up an outstanding reputation for its cask-aged Ports, in particular its colheitas and single harvest tawnies. Today the port house produces a full range from White Port, Ruby, Vintage, Late Bottled Vintage, Tawny to old Colheitas.

First created in 1843, Grande Cuvée is the flagship release from Krug, re-created every year, regardless of annual climate variations. Krug Grande Cuvée is a blend of over 120 different wines from more than 10 different years.

Assorted Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet-Shiraz South Australia 2x75cl

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from South Australia.

First made in 1960, Bin 389 is often referred to as ‘Baby Grange’ because components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange.

Penfolds is one of Australia's great iconic wineries and has been making world renowned wines since 1844. It was established at Magill Estate in the Adelaide Hills in 1844 by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary who In the early years, produced and sold fortified wines. Today Penfolds offer a huge variety of wines ranging from entry-level to premier offerings such as their flagship \"Grange\". On its 50th birthday in 2001, Grange was listed as a South Australian heritage icon.

Assorted Château Guiraud 1990s Sauternes 1er-Cru 3x75cl

From the appellation of Sauternes, Château Guiraud was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc. 

The wines of Sauternes are produced from a blend of the white wine grapes Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally a small amount of Muscadelle, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the one of the worlds most sought after sweet wines.

This lot contains one each of the 1995, 1997 and 1998 vintage.

Klein Constantia 1998 Vin de Constance 50cl

A renowned naturally super-sweet dessert wine from the Constantia wine-region of South Africa. Made made from 100% vine-dried muscat de Frontignan. Aged for 3 years in a combination of 50% new oak and acacia barrels, as well as large format foudres.

The approach used to create Vin de Constance is unique to Klein Constantia, tailored from historic information used to make the iconic sweet wines of Constantia in the 1700’s. From these records they have recreated a style of Muscat de Frontignan involving numerous winemaking techniques in order to create this sweet wine. 

Amandio Silva & Filhos 1953 Old Tawny Port

Tawny Port is a particular style of Port in which the fortified wines are aged for a number of years in small oak casks.  This process of deliberate and careful oxidative maturation imparts typical characteristics of stewed fruits, nuts and leather. Tawny port are non-vintage wines which come in various styles, primarily recognised by the length of time the wine has been aged. The wines do not age or improve further upon bottling. 

Kloster Eberbach 'Rauenthaler Gehrn' Riesling Cabinet 1966 Rheingau

Semi-sweet Riesling from the single vineyard of Rauenthaler Baiken in the Rheingau region of west-central Germany.

Kabinett (Cabinet) is the lightest style of German wine. It is made from grapes which were picked at full ripeness (but not late-harvested) and the style typically ranges from dry to off-dry with well balanced residual sweetness and acidity.
