Castello Banfi 2002 Brunello di Montalcino

100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan town of Montalcino.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy.  100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years before release.

Château Cissac 1996 Haut-Médoc

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the Bordeaux sub-region of Haut-Médoc; Aged for 18-20 months in 30-40% new French oak. 

The Cru Bourgeois estate of Château Cissac has been in the hands of the Vialard family since 1895 and is currently run by the 5th generation. The family also owns the neighbouring estate of Chateau du Breuil.

Chateau St.Georges 2012 Saint-Georges-Saint-Emilion

A classic Merlot dominant, right-bank Bordeaux-blend from the appellation of Saint-Émilion.

Saint-Émilion is located in the Libournais district of Bordeaux's Right Bank. Merlot is the primary grape variety used in the wines blended with Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon. Carmenere, Petit Verdot and Malbec are also permitted but rarely used.

Churchill's 'Quinta Da Agua Alta' 1995 Vintage Port

1995 vintage Port from the house of Churchill's.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

Churchill’s was originally founded in 1981 by John Graham and his two brothers, Anthony and William of the renowned Graham's Port family who have produced wine from the Douro Valley for over 200 years. It was the first new Port Wine Company to be established in over 50 years. A total of only eleven vintages have been declared by Churchill's since its first in 1982.

Château Troplong Mondot 1964 Saint-Émilion 1er-Grand Cru

Merlot dominant (85-90%), right-bank Bordeaux-blend from the Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate of Château Troplong Mondot within the appellation of Saint-Émilion; Matured for approximately 18-24 months in 75% new oak barrels.

The wine of Château Troplong Mondot is made from a blend of approximately; 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Château Peyrabon 1983 Haut-Médoc 150cl

Cru Bourgeois, Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend from Châ​teau Semeillan within the Bordeaux sub-regional appellation of Haut-Médoc (Upper Medoc).

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Comte de Robart 'Cuvée de Réserve' NV Champagne 150cl

Non-vintage Champagne from the house of Comte de Robart.

The famed Champagne Wine Region located in the north east of France is renowned for producing the world's most celebrated sparkling wine. Champagne is typically made from one or a combination of the three predominant grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, although there are four other lesser-known grape varieties that are permitted to be included: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Petit Meslier and Arbane.

Château De Valois 1990 Pomerol

Merlot dominant, right-bank Bordeaux-blend from the appellation of Pomerol.

Pomerol is one of the big names in Bordeaux though is the smallest of the major appellations of the city. Located in the Right Bank, the appellation has no official classification but is considered one of the world’s most revered wine regions. The region is famed for its age-worthy Merlot-based wines typically made from 100% Merlot or blended with Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec are also permitted but rarely used. 

Châ​teau Meyney 2003 Saint-Estèphe

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the appellation of Saint-Estèphe; Matured for 16-24 months in an average of 30-50% new French oak.

Château Meyney's vines have an average age of 35 to 40 years and it also produces a second wine named, Prieur de Meyney.

Cockburn's 'Quinta Dos Canais' 2007 Vintage Port

2007 vintage Port from Cockburns 300 hectare vineyard, Quinta dos Canais.

Cockburn’s is one of the greatest names in Port, established by Scotsman Robert Cockburn in 1815, who returned to Portugal after first visiting the country as a soldier.

Clos Manou 2016 Médoc

A classic Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon dominance from the regional appellation of Médoc.

This 2016 vintage is made from a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. 

Croft 'Quinta da Roeda' 1997 Vintage Port

1997 single-estate, Vintage Port from Croft's renowned vineyards at Quinta da Roeda.

Founded in 1588 by John Croft of Yorkshire, Croft is one of the most well known and respected of all Port houses which is still active today

Ceretto 'Asij' 1994 Barbaresco

Nebbiolo from the renowned Piedmont region of Italy.

Conti Capponi 1964 Chianti Classico 2x72cl

Sangiovese dominant blend from the iconic wine-region of Chianti in the heart of Tuscany.

Chianti Classico wines must contain a minimum of 80% of Sangiovese. The remainder can be made from native grapes such as Canaiolo or Colorino, as well as international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Wines made only from Sangiovese have been permitted since 1996.

Château La Tour de Mons 1988 Margaux

Merlot dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the single, walled vineyard of Château La Tour de Mons; Matured for 12 months in French oak. 

Château La Tour de Mons is a Cru Bourgeois estate in the famed appellation of Margaux. The vineyard is planted to; 61% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc- a ratio in which the wine is roughly expected to follow with slight vintage variation.

Châ​teau Meyney 2017 Saint-Estèphe

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the appellation of Saint-Estèphe; Matured for 16-24 months in an average of 30-50% new French oak.

Château Meyney is one of the oldest properties in the Médoc with vines of an average age of 35 to 40 years. The estate was bought by the Crédit Agricole subsidiary, CA Grands Crus in 2004.

A blend of approximatley; 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. 

Château d'Arsac 2016 Margaux

A classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the famed appellation of Margaux.

Margaux is a famed appellation located in the Haut-Médoc district of in the Right Bank of Bordeaux, southwestern France. The wine is predominantly made from Cabernet Sauvignon either as a single varietal or blended with a select combination of other permitted grapes: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Carmenère, Petit Verdot and Malbec.

This 2016 vintage is made from a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot.

Conte Ottavio Piccolomini 1999 Brunello di Montalcino

Cappa Angelo & Figli 1961 Barolo

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

Château La Pointe 1977 Pomerol

The wine from Château La Pointe is a classic right-bank, Merlot dominant (80%+) Bordeaux-blend.

Located in the Right Bank, the appellation has no official classification but is considered one of the world’s most revered wine regions. The region is famed for its age-worthy Merlot-based wines typically made from 100% Merlot or blended with Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec are also permitted but rarely used. 

Château Thivin 'Cuvée Zaccharie' 2013 Côte de Brouilly

Old vine Gamay Noir from the Beaujolais appellation of Côte de Brouilly: aged for 9 months in new and old oak barrels. 

The Côte de Brouilly appellation covers red wines only. However the law allows a small amount the white grape varieties; Chardonnay, Aligoté or Melon de Bourgogne to be blended in addition to the Gamay.

Château La Pointe 1974 Pomerol

The wine from Château La Pointe is a classic right-bank, Merlot dominant (80%+) Bordeaux-blend.

Château Lagrange 1977 Saint-Julien 3eme-Cru

From the appellation of Saint-Julien, Château Lagrange is a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc; Aged for approximately 20 months in 50% new French oak. 

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend featuring a substantial volume Merlot; matured in French oak barrels for 20 months.

Today Château Lagrange is owned by the Japanese liquor giant Suntory. Confusingly there is an unrelated estate of the same name located in the appellation of Pomerol.

Cairdeas 'Blend' 2018 Uco Valley​

A blend of 40% Malbec, 20% Ancelotta, 20% Syrah ,10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot , sourced from the Uco Valley within the famed Mendoza Valley in Argentina.

There is a fairly complicated classification system for the appellation which includes; Premier Grand Cru Classé A, Premier Grand Cru Classé B and Grand Cru Classé. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru may also be noted on labels but without the word \"Classé\", this means the wine is not part of this classification system. In recent years some top producers in the area have voluntarily withdrawn for the classification system.
