Chianti is a classic red wine from the heartland of Tuscany - one of Italy's iconic wine regions.

Many Chianti wines are made from 100% Sangiovese, however the region rules stipulate that the wines can be made from a minimum of 80% Sangiovese, with up to 20% of the final blend permitted to be constituted from a handful of other approved grape varieties such as Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah.

Semi-sweet white wine blend made from Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner and Kerner grapes from the single vineyard, Schlosskapelle, by the village of Burg Layen in the Nahe region in south-western Germany.

Kabinett is the lightest style of German wine. It is made from grapes which were picked at full ripeness (but not late-harvested) and the style typically ranges from dry to off-dry with well balanced residual sweetness and acidity.

The famed Champagne Wine Region located in the northeast of France is renowned for producing the world's most celebrated sparkling wine. Champagne is typically made from one or a combination of the three predominant grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, although there are four other lesser-known grape varieties that are permitted to be included: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Petit Meslier and Arbane.

Champagne Pommery was founded in Reims in 1858 initially under the name Pommery & Greno. The house, under the ownership of the renowned Madame Louise Pommery, was the was the first to commercialise brut Champagne in 1874.

Semi-sweet Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley appellation of Vouvray.

The Vouvray wine region, located in the Loire Valley's Touraine district, is famed for its white wine made almost exclusively from the Chenin Blanc grape. Various styles: sweet, dry, still and sparkling are permitted in the region. Other than Chenin Blanc, the lesser-known and rarely seen Arbois grape is also permitted. Chenin Blanc is also known as Pineau de la Loire in Loire and Steen in South Africa.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy.  100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years prior to release.

Tawny Port is a particular style of Port in which the fortified wines are aged for a number of years in small oak casks.  This process of deliberate and careful oxidative maturation imparts typical characteristics of stewed fruits, nuts and leather. Tawny port are non-vintage wines which come in various styles, primarily recognised by the length of time the wine has been aged. The wines do not age or improve further upon bottling. 

Founded in 1756 by the Silva Reis family and still today owned and operated by that same family almost 3 centuries later - Royal Oporto is the flagship brand of the Real Companhia Velha which is one of the oldest wine companies in Portugal

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
