Pinot Noir from the Burgundian appellation of Pommard, in the Côte-d'Or.

Château de Pommard's Clos Marey-Monge Monopole is their signature wine made from a blend of all seven vineyards of the Clos and aged for approximately 20 months in 30% new french oak barrels.

Created in 1937, the Pommard wine region, known for it's powerful and full- bodied wine, is located Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy, immediately next to neighbouring Volnay. The region is home to over 25 Premier Cru vineyards and produces red wine only made from Pinot Noir grapes. Regulations allow for up to 15% of Chardonnay, Pinot blanc and Pinot gris as accessory grapes- although this is rarely utilised.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of France's iconic appellations.  Located in the Southern Rhône Valley, the appellation is most commonly known for its Grenache-dominant red wines with Syrah and Mourvèdre lead the cast of supporting grapes. White wines are also produced in exceedingly smaller volumes.

Château La Mission Haut-Brion from the Pessac-Léognan appellation (originally Graves before 1987), is widely regarded as being on par with the five prestigious 1st-Growth estates as ranked in the famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc; itself ranked within the Classification of Graves 1959. 

The Pessac-Léognan wine region was carved out of the Graves sub-region in 1987. Many estates in what is now Pessac-Léognan were labelled under Graves prior to 1987, such as Château La Mission Haut-Brion.

Typically a Merlot dominant blend closely followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc; aged in oak barriques (70-85% new) for 18- 20 months.

Château la Clusiere 2000 Saint-Émilion Grand-Cru Classé

A classic Merlot dominant, right-bank Bordeaux-blend from a Grand-Cru Classé estate within the appellation of Saint-Émilion: aged for 12-16 months in 50% new oak barrels. 

Saint-Émilion is located in the Libournais district of Bordeaux's Right Bank. Merlot is the primary grape variety used in the wines blended with Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon. Carmenere, Petit Verdot and Malbec are also permitted but rarely used.

There is a fairly complicated classification system for the appellation which includes; Premier Grand Cru Classé A, Premier Grand Cru Classé B and Grand Cru Classé. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru may also be noted on labels but without the word \"Classé\", this means the wine is not part of this classification system. In recent years some top producers in the area have voluntarily withdrawn for the classification system.

From the Pauillac appellation, Château Haut-Batailley was recognised as a 5th Growth (5eme Cru) estate of Pauillac in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Château Batailley is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux. In 1942 it was divided into the two separate estates that we know today; Château Batailley and Château Haut Batailley.

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured in French Oak barrels (55% new) for approximately 16-18 months.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

From the appellation of Sauternes, Château Guiraud was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc. 

The wines of Sauternes are produced from a blend of the white wine grapes Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally a small amount of Muscadelle, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the one of the worlds most sought after sweet wines.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
