Gaja 1967 Barbaresco

DOC Barbaresco is one of the great - yet largely unsung - wines of Italy.  Similar to it's more famous neighbour, Barolo; Barbaresco is made from Nebbiolo grapes and must be aged for a minimum of 26 months (at least 9 months in wooden barrels) prior to release.

Gaja are one of the most renowned wine producers in Italy. Founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja, the estate has since been owned and operated by five generations of the Gaja family.

Giuseppe Quintarelli 1992 Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2x75cl

Part of the Valpolicella family of wines, each Corvina and Rondinella dominant blends.

This wine is from the Classico sub-region which is deemed to produce wines of particularly esteemed quality.

Graham's 1977 Vintage Port

Vintage Port is a specific style of Ruby Port which is made only in exceptional years and from the ripest grapes. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades.

Graham’s, one of the most famous names in the Port trade, was established in 1820 by William and John Graham. Today Graham’s remains a family-owned firm after being acquired by the Symington family in 1970. Its flagship estate is Quinta dos Malvedos, one of the Douro's greatest vineyard properties.

Chateau Lynch-Bages 1966 Pauillac 5eme-Cru

Château Lynch-Bages is a 5th Growth (5eme Cru) estate in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. Château Lynch-Bages is also the name of the red wine produced by this property. The wine produced here was classified as one of eighteen Cinquièmes Crus in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured in oak barrels for a period of 12 months.

Château Suduiraut 2002 Sauternes 1er-Cru 2x37.5cl

Chateau Suduiraut was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

The wines of Sauternes are produced from a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the most incredible sweet wine.

Giacomo Borgogno & Figli 1966 Barolo Riserva 2x72cl

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes-, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

Glaetzer-Dixon 'La Judith' Shiraz 2014 Tasmania

Single vineyard Shiraz from the Australian island of Tasmania; matured for approximately 3 years in new oak barrels. 

La Judith Shiraz is sourced from mature, low yielding vines grown in a small plot on one of the valley's oldest vineyards in the Coal River Valley.

This is one of only 232 bottles produced in the 2014 vintage.

Château​ Branaire-Ducru 198* Saint-Julien 4eme-Cru 2x75cl

From the famed Bordeaux appellation of Saint-Julien, Château Branaire-Ducru (sometimes referred to simply as Château Branaire) is a 4th Growth (4eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

​The wine is a typical left-bank Bordeaux-blend featuring a high dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon, approximately 25% Merlot and tiny portions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot; matured for a minimum of 18 months in 60% new French oak barrels.

This is a commemorative bottling to celebrate 175 years of Cockburn's from 1815 - 1990.

Château Figeac 1967 St-Emilion 1er-Grand Cru

Since the formation of the Saint-Emilion Classification in 1955, Chateau Figeac has held its rank as Premier Grand Cru Classé \"B\", until 2022 when it was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé \"A\".

As an anomaly for Saint-Emilion, Merlot is the minor grape variety at Château Figeac. The wines being composed of approximately 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc and only 30% Merlot; matured exclusively in new French Oak barrels for 15-18 months.

Château Grinou 1994 Saussignac

Saussignac is an small appellation for sweet wines within the Bergerac wine region of south-west France. Made from a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle and generally of a slightly drier style than Sauternes. Both appellations are produced from grapes affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp for pressing.

Vintage Port is a specific style of Ruby Port which is made only in exceptional years and from the ripest grapes.  The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character.  Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades.

Cockburn’s is one of the greatest names in Port, established by Scotsman Robert Cockburn in 1815, who returned to Portugal after first visiting the country as a soldier.

Late Bottled Vintage Port is a specific style of Ruby Port in which the fortified wine - from a single, specified vintage - is aged for an extended period of time before bottling. Unlike Vintage Ports, LBV Ports do not continue to mature in the bottle.

Château Latour Martillac 2014 Graves Grand Cru

Château Latour-Martillac located in the Bordeaux appellation of Pessac-Leognan (originally Graves before 1987), was ranked as a Grand Cru estate within the 1959 Classifications of Graves wines. 

Their wine is a blend of 60-65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30-35% Merlot and approximately 5% Petit Verdot; matured in French Oak barrels for approximately 18 months.

Lagrave-Martillac is their second-wine.

Castello Di Volpaia 1979 Chianti Classico Riserva

Sangiovese dominant blend from the iconic wine-region of Chianti in the heart of Tuscany.

Chianti Classico wines must contain a minimum of 80% of Sangiovese. The remainder can be made from native grapes such as Canaiolo or Colorino, as well as international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Wines made only from Sangiovese have been permitted since 1996.

Classed as a Chianti Classico Riserva, this wine must have been aged for a minimum of 24 months including 3 months of bottle ageing.

Château Lagrange 'Les Fiefs de Lagrange' 1990 St-Julien

Les Fiefs De Lagrange is the second-wine of Château Lagrange, a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, owned by the giant Japanese spirits company, Suntory. 

Typically a full Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot; Aged for around 12 months in 20-25% new oak. 

Château Latour-Martillac 1983 Graves Grand-Cru

Located in the Bordeaux appellation of Pessac-Léognan (originally Graves before 1987), Château Latour-Martillac is a Grand Cru Classé estate, ranked within the 1953 Classification of Graves.

Their wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend aged for 12-14 months in approximately 40% new French oak barrels.

Graham Beck 'The Rhona' Blanc-de-Blancs Sparkling Wine 2010 South Africa 2x75cl

2010 vintage sparkling wine from South Africa. Made in the style - and same, traditional process (methode Cap Classique)- of Champagne, from France.

Blanc-De-Blancs wines are made exclusively from white grapes- nearly always made from 100% Chardonnay grapes.

Croft Quinta Da Roeda 2015 Vintage Port

1983 single-estate, Vintage Port from Croft's renowned vineyards at Quinta Da Roeda.

Founded in 1588 by John Croft of Yorkshire, Croft is one of the most well known and respected of all Port houses which is still active today.
