Dow's 1991 Vintage Port 6x75cl

1991 vintage Port from the house of Dow's. Bottled in 1993.

Vintage Port is a specific style of Ruby Port which is made only in exceptional years and from the ripest grapes. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character.  Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades.

One of the great houses of Port- the name Dow has been associated with quality Port wine from the vineyards of the Upper Douro Valley for over two centuries.

The renowned Domaine Dujac was established in 1967 in Morey-Saint-Denis when the Seysses family purchased Domaine Graillet and renamed it Domaine Dujac after founder, Jacques Seysses. The same family continue to run the estate to this day. In 2000, the family also created a négociant business, with wines bottled under Dujac Fils & Père.

Sauvignon Blanc from the iconic Loire Valley appellation of Pouilly-Fumé, located directly across the river from the equally famous appellation of Sancerre.

The Pouilly-Fumé appellation was created in 1937 and was originally named Blanc Fumé de Pouilly. The appellation exclusively produces white wines from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, with a distinctive smoky ('fumé) character. Not to be confused with Burgundy's Pouilly-Fuisse which is Chardonnay based.

Avignonesi Vin Santo 1975 Toscana 

Vin Santo is a traditional sweet wine from the Italian region of Tuscany.  Typically, the wine will be made from the white grapes of the Trebbiano and/or Malvasia varieties, dried on straw mats to concentrate the natural flavours and grape sugars, then pressed and partially fermented with moderate to high residual sugars.

Vino Santo may vary in colour from a pale to gold, dark amber to even neon orange. 

This wine is made from a blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes matured for a minimum of 10 years in 50-litre oak casks.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
