Kistler Vineyards is a family-owned winery established in 1978 by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler which has become renowned for its benchmark Californian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Today the estate farms seventeen vineyards across five appellations. The first vintage in 1979 produced 3,500 cases of wine.
