Château de Cayx 1995 Cahors 300cl

Château de Cayx, located in the Cahors region of southwestern France  gained prominence in 1974 when it was purchased by the Danish royal family. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and her husband, Prince Henrik, who was born Henri de Laborde de Monpezat in France, acquired the property. The château was extensively renovated and modernised under their ownership, serving as both a private residence and a venue for official events and state visits.

Predominantly made from the Malbec grape variety, this wine is matured in 1/3 new oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months. 

This is a 3 litre double magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Châ​teau Ormes de Pez 2010 Saint-Estèphe 3x75cl

Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnels, classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Bordeaux-blend from the left-bank appellation of Saint Estèphe; This wine is typically aged for 14-16 months in 35-50% new French oak. 

The vineyards of Châ​teau Ormes de Pez are planted to 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot - A ratio in which the wine roughly follows with slight vintage variation. 

Châ​teau Les Ormes de Pez is owned by the Cazes family, also owners of the renowned Château Lynch-Bages since 1939.

Château D'Esclans 'Whispering Angel' 2022 Cotes De Provence Rosé 6x75cl

Rosé made from a Grenache dominant blend from the appellation of Côtes De Provence in the south of France.

The renowned Whispering Angel is a bone dry Rosé made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino) grapes, aged in stainless steel tanks.

Château Beaumont 2009 Haut-Médoc 4x75cl

Cru Bourgeois wine from Chateau Beaumont in the Bordeaux sub-regional appellation of Haut-Médoc.

The wine tends to be a fairly balanced blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with very small proportions of Petit Verdot and/or Cabernet Franc; Matured for 12-14 months in oak barrels, one-third renewed each year.

The history of Château Beaumont dates back to the 18th Century. Today it is one of the largest estates in the Medoc and is currently owned by the GMF group, which joined with Japanese group Suntory to create the company Grands Millésimes de France, also owner of Château Beychevelle.

Château Cissac 1989 Haut-Medoc 2x75cl

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the Bordeaux sub-region of Haut-Médoc; Aged for 18-20 months in 30-40% new French oak. 

The Cru Bourgeois estate of Château Cissac has been in the hands of the Vialard family since 1895 and is currently run by the 5th generation. The family also owns the neighbouring estate of Chateau du Breuil.

Château Gruaud-Larose 1978 St-Julien 2eme-Cru / Cordier

From the Bordeaux left-bank appellation of Saint-Julien, Château Gruaud-Larose is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc.

The wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; matured for 16-18 months in oak barrels. New oak use has increased from around 30% in the 1990s to around 90% in the 2000s. 

This is a bottling by the historic French négociants, Cordier.

Cullen Diana Madeline 2018 Wilyabrup, Margaret River

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Bordeaux style blend from the Wilyabrup  sub-region of the larger Margaret River wine-region of Western Australia; Matured for 15 months in 50% new French Oak barriques.

Diana Madeline is the flagship wine of Cullen. This 2018 vintage is made from a blend of; 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec.

Château Musar 1997 Bekaa Valley

Château Musar Red is a blend comprising of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley; Aged in French oak for 12 months. 

Château Musar was created in 1930 by Gaston Hochar. In recent years Château Musar has become the first producer in Lebanon to achieve organic certification for its vineyards. Today the Chateau is one of the leading wineries increasing wide-spread recognition of Lebanon's wines and wine-history.

Charles Viénot 1969 Richebourg Grand-Cru

Mature Pinot Noir from the famed Burgundian Grand Cru vineyard and appellation of Richebourg, within the subregion of the Côte-de-Nuits.

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey​ 1996 Sauternes 1er-Cru 2x75cl

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey was ranked, as part of the former Chateau Peyraguey, as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Gironde.

The vineyard of Lafaurie-Peyraguey lies on Sauternes' high gravel terrace, 70 m above sea level, next to Château d'Yquem. The estate matures it's Sauternes for 18-19 months in 40-70% new French oak barrels. 

The wines of Sauternes are produced from a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally a small amount of Muscadelle, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the most incredible sweet wine.

One of the most recognisable wine estates in Bordeaux, Château Talbot is typically a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend along with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc; Aged for approximately 18 months in small oak barriques (50% new).

Château Talbot is a 4th Growth (4eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, and is renowned for its consistency and ageing ability.

Château Calon-Ségur 1988 Saint-Estèphe 3eme-Cru

From the Bordeaux appellation of Saint-Estèphe, Château Calon-Ségur is a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc. The Château is home to one of the few walled vineyards in the Left Bank and is the most northerly of all the Médoc Grand-Crus Classés.

Typically a classic Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon dominance, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot; Matured in 100% new oak barrels for 18-20 months.

Château de Monthelie 'Eric de Suremain' 1993 Monthélie 7x75cl

Pinot Noir from within the Burgundian appellation of Monthélie.

The small appellation of Monthélie was created in 1937 in the Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy. The village is home to only around 200 residents. Monthélie produces mainly red wines from Pinot Noir although a small amount (around 10%) of production is of white wine made from Chardonnay.

Clarendon Hills 'Liandra Vineyard' Syrah 2001 Australia 3x75cl

Single-vineyard Syrah from the Clarendon Hills estate, located just north-east of McLaren Vale, to the south of Adelaide, Australia.

Founded in 1989, Clarendon Hills is a small but renowned family-run winery specialising in single vineyard wines. This wine comes from the renowned Hickinbotham vineyard situated on the high elevation hills of Clarendon, planted in the early 1970s.

Once belonging to the Carmelite monks in Langon, the renowned Château Rieussec is now owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), since they purchased the estate in 1984. Chateau Rieussec was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Sassetti Livio 1988 Brunello di Montalcino

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy. The wine must be made from 100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years before release.

Château Calon-Ségur 1988 Saint-Estèphe 3eme-Cru

From the Bordeaux appellation of Saint-Estèphe, Château Calon-Ségur is a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc. The Château is home to one of the few walled vineyards in the Left Bank and is the most northerly of all the Médoc Grand-Crus Classés.
