Torbreck 'Descendant' 2003 Barossa Valley

Single vineyard Shiraz with small amounts of the white wine grape Viognier from South Australia's renowned Barossa Valley: matured for 18 months in used French oak barrels. 

Torbreck, named after a forest in Scotland, was founded in 1994 by Dave Powell and has quickly become one of the most revered producers in Australia creating wines from some of the most renowned vineyards in the area. The first wine made under the Torbreck label was the 1995 RunRig, which was released in 1997.

White and rosé wines may also be produced in the region.

Chenin Blanc from the vineyards of Clos du Papillon, in the distinct Loire Valley appellation of Savennières, France. 

Though sweeter styles are permitted, Savennières typically produces dry white wines with the Chenin blanc grape from vineyards situated on the north bank of the river Loire.

Cornas is a French Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in the northern Rhône wine region of France, south of Lyon. It is one of the smallest appellations in the Rhône valley and is permitted to produce only red wine made from 100% Syrah grapes.

Mature, semi-sweet Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley appellation of Vouvray. 

The Vouvray wine region, located in the Loire Valley's Touraine district, is famed for its white wine made almost exclusively from the Chenin Blanc grape. Various styles: sweet, dry, still and sparkling are permitted in the region. Other than Chenin Blanc, the lesser-known and rarely seen Arbois grape is also permitted. Chenin Blanc is also known as Pineau de la Loire in Loire and Steen in South Africa.

Seigneur de Maugiron which translates to Lord of Maugiron, is 100% Syrah is made from a blend of grapes from the Côte Brune (around 70%) and the Côte Blonde (around 30%).

Tokaj Kereskedőház Aszú 5 Puttonyos 1983 Tokaji 50cl

Sweet wine made from Furmint grapes from the famed Tokaji wine region of northeastern Hungary.

The wines of Tokaji are produced from the white wine grape Furmint, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the famed sweet wines of Tokaji. 

Tokaji wines are classified by sweetness, from 1 Puttonyos (dry) to 7 Puttonyos (absolute sweetness).

Tokaj Kereskedőház was renamed Grand Tokaj in 2016.

The famed Champagne Wine Region located in the northeast of France is renowned for producing the world's most celebrated sparkling wine. Champagne is typically made from one or a combination of the three predominant grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, although there are four other lesser-known grape varieties that are permitted to be included: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Petit Meslier and Arbane.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Denis Philibert 'Cuvée Françoise Poisard' 1996 Pouilly-Fuissé / Hospices de Beaune

Chardonnay from the Burgundian appellation of Pouilly-Fuissé in the Mâconnais region. 

This 1996 vintage of Cuvée Françoise Poisard was produced by Denis Philibert on behalf of the world-famous Hospices De Beaune charitable wine auction.

The Pouilly-Fuissé appellation was created in 1936 and exclusively produces white wines from 100% Chardonnay, often with a clear oak influence. Not to be confused with the Loire's Pouilly-Fumé which is Sauvignon Blanc based.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
