R. López de Heredia 'Viña Tondonia' 1970 Rioja Gran Reserva

A Tempranillo dominant blend from the northern Spanish DOC of Rioja; Matured in oak barrels for a period well in excess of the requirements to qualify for a Gran Reserva.

Established by Don Rafael López de Heredia in 1877, R. López de Heredia (Viña Tondonia) is one of the most well known and respected wineries in Rioja today. It is the oldest winery in the emblematic town of Haro and one of the first three set up in La Rioja. It continues to be a family run estate with the fourth generation now running the business. 

An interesting note - when the term \"Gran Reserva\" was defined in the 1970s, the owner of Viña Tondonia, Don Pedro López Heredia, objected on the grounds that the new terms were too lenient - even his most basic wine far exceeding the \"Gran Reserva\" requirements - and so refused to use the new classifications on his labels.

Robert & Patrrick Jasmin 1996 Côte Rôtie 150cl

Côte Rôtie is one of the most iconic appellations in the Rhône Valley. While many of the region's wines are made of 100% Syrah, the addition of up to 20% of the white wine grape Viognier is permitted to be included.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Robert Michel 1990 Cornas

Syrah from the northern Rhône Valley appellation of Cornas.

Cornas is a French Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in the northern Rhône wine region of France, south of Lyon. It is one of the smallest appellations in the Rhône valley and is permitted to produce only red wine made from 100% Syrah grapes. 

Ridge 'York Creek' Cabernet Sauvignon 1981 Napa Valley

Cabernet Sauvignon from the single vineyard of York Creek, located on Spring Mountain, north of St. Helena, on the western edge of Napa Valley.

An iconic name in Californian wine making, Ridge vineyards only began in the 1960's, however, wine has been produced at the site underthe name 'Monte Bello Winery' since 1885. Renowned for producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Chardonnay, their Bordeaux-style blends are considered rivals to these from the great Bordeaux Chateaux. 

This 1981 vintage is made from a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

Royal Tokaji 'Late Harvest' Késői Szüret 2017 Tokaji 6x50cl

Late Harvest Késői Szüret is a sweet white wine made from a blend of Furmint dominance with Muscat and Harslevelu: matured for 5-6 months in barrels.

The wines of Tokaji are produced from the white wine grape Furmint, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the famed sweet wines of Tokaji.

An even blend of Marlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Italian region of Toscana (Tuscany)

Nicolás Catena Zapata Cabernet Sauvignon-Malbec 2009 Mendoza

A Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Malbec from Catena's extreme high-altitude vineyards within Mendoza, Argentina.

This 2009 vintage is made from a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Malbec: matured for 18 months in French oak barrels.

Ramón Bilbao 'Viña Turzaballa' 1968 Rioja Gran Reserva

Tempranillo dominant blend from the Rioja region in northern Spain. Classified as a Gran Reserva, this wine was matured for a minimum period of 24 months in oak barrels.

Rioja is arguably Spain's top wine region and is one of only two regions classified under the Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) system. Other than Tempranillo and Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) are also used in the red wines of Rioja. 

Remoissenet Père and Fils 'Les Malconsorts' 1966 Vosne-Romanée 1er-Cru

Pinot Noir from the Burgundian Premier Cru vineyard of Les Malconsorts within the appellation of Vosne-Romanée.

The renowned Vosne-Romanée appellation is located in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits and famed for it's high quality wines made from Pinot Noir. Though most wines produced are 100% Pinot Noir, regulations allow for the addition of up to 15% of the white wine grapes Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris to be included, however this is rarely utilised by producers. Originally called Vosne until 1866 when Romanée was added paying homage to it's most famed vineyard- La Romanée. The area is also home to other prized Premier and Grand Cru vineyards: Romanée-Conti, La Grand Rue, La Tâche, Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant.

Rolly Gassmann 'Oberer Weingarten de Rorschwihr' Selection de Grains Nobles Gewurztraminer 1997 Alsace 2x75cl

Old vine, sweet Gewürztraminer from the single vineyard of Rorschwihr, in the eastern French wine-region of Alsace.

Rolly-Gassmann is located at Rorschwihr, a village on the northern rim of Haut-Rhin. The vineyards are located in Rorschwihr and the neighbouring Rodern and Bergheim.

The renowned Alsace wine region located in Eastern France, is home to aromatic white wines made from Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Sylvaner, Muscat d'Alsace and Pinot Gris. A small amount of red wine is also produced in the region, mostly from Pinot Noir grapes. The wines are permitted to be made in a dry or sweet style. The history of Alsace, flitting between French and German ownership for centuries, imparts itself within the region's wines - a cacophony of grapes native to both countries, ennobled and respected individually.

Richard Nagler 'Hochheimer Herrnberg' Riesling Auslese 1985 Rheingau 2x75cl

Semi-sweet Riesling from the single vineyard of Herrnberg in the village of hochheimer within the Rheingau region of west-central Germany.

Auslese is a semi-sweet or sweet style of German wine, made from individually-selected bunches of very ripe grapes based on their ripeness level and sugar content.

Real Companhia Velha 'Royal Oporto' 1983 Vintage Port

A 1983 vintage port from the renowned Real Companhia Velha.

Founded in 1756 by the Silva Reis family and still today owned and operated by that same family almost 3 centuries later - Royal Oporto is the flagship brand of the Real Companhia Velha which is one of the oldest wine companies in Portugal.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

Yountville Winery 'Hoopes Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 Oakville, Napa Valley 2x75cl

Cabernet Sauvignon from the Oakville AVA within California's renowned Napa Valley.

Produced and bottled by Yountville Winery for Hoopes Vineyard- a small, family-owned winegrower and producer with deep roots in Napa Valley. ·

Nino Zeni 2005 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 

Amarone della Valpolicella is one of Italy's most iconic wines.  As with all Valpolicellas, the wine is a blend of the Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella grape varieties.  

Amarone is produced through a process of partially rack-drying grapes - to increase concentration of both natural grape flavours and sugars - for approximately 4 months before winemaking begins.  The result is a wine of atypical power, concentration and alcohol content with an ability to benefit from long periods of maturation.

This wine is from the Classico sub-region which is deemed to produce wines of particularly esteemed quality.

Ruffino 'Modus' 2007 Toscana

Modus is made from a blend of from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Italian region of Toscana (Tuscany): matured for 12 months in barriques. 

Rosemount 'Balmoral' Syrah 1995 McLaren Vale

Old vine Syrah from the McLaren Vale wine-region to the south of Adelaide; Aged for approx. 20 months in a combination of new and used French and American oak. 

This wine is made from parcels of small vineyards with an vine age of 50-100 year old. 

Nicolis 2009 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

Raúl Ferreira 'Quinta do Barão' Vinho Generoso Carcavelos circa 1980s

Mature fortified wine (Vinho Generoso) from the tiny, traditional Portuguese wine region of Carcavelos.

Carcavelos is a rare and unique wine fortified with vinho abafado. The wine can be made from a blend of nine permitted red and white grape varieties and are aged for a prolonged period in used barriques. The vineyards and wines were nearly completely lost in the 20th century due to phylloxera and area redevelopment. Today there is only one active producer of this wine in the entire region.

Rosemount 'Traditional' 1998 McLaren Vale 2x75cl

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Petit Verdot from Australia's McLaren Vale wine-region located to the south of Adelaide. Matured in American oak barrels for 14 months.

Chianti is a classic red wine from the heartland of Tuscany - one of Italy's iconic wine regions.

The wine is Sangiovese dominant, with up to 25% of the blend permitted to be constituted from a small handful of other approved grape varieties.

Roger Lassarat 'Cuvee Prestige' 1993 Saint-Véran 

Mature Chardonnay from the lesser known Burgundian appellation of Saint-Véran, within the subregion of Mâconnais.

The Saint-Véran DOC was created in 1971 and is an appellation for dry white wines made from Chardonnay grapes, in the southern half of the Mâconnais sub-region of Burgundy.
