Dietrich Pinot Gris Tokay d'Alsace 1986 Alsace

Pinot Gris from the famed eastern French wine-region of Alsace.

In Alsace, Pinot Gris was historically known as Tokay d'Alsace, but to avoid confusion with the Hungarian wine Tokaji, its name was forcibly changed first to Tokay-Pinot-Gris, with \"Tokay\" further dropped from its name by 2007.

The renowned Alsace wine region located in Eastern France, is home to aromatic white wines made from Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Sylvaner, Muscat d'Alsace and Pinot Gris. A small amount of red wine is also produced in the region, mostly from Pinot Noir grapes. The wines are permitted to be made in a dry or sweet style. The history of Alsace, flitting between French and German ownership for centuries, imparts itself within the region's wines - a cacophony of grapes native to both countries, ennobled and respected individually.
