Rossese
Rossese is a red wine grape variety that is grown primarily in the Liguria region of Italy, where it has a long history of use in the production of local wines. It is known for producing light- to medium-bodied wines with delicate fruit flavours and subtle tannins, and is often blended with other grape varieties to add a unique character to the final wine.
Notable regions
One of the most notable wine regions for Rossese production is Liguria, a coastal region in north-west Italy. In Liguria, Rossese is often blended with other red wine grape varieties to produce a number of the region's DOCs, the best-known of which is Rossese di Dolceacqua.
Rossese is also grown in smaller quantities in the nearby regions of Piedmont and Tuscany.
