Melon de Bourgogne

Melon de Bourgogne is a white wine grape variety that is mostly grown in the Loire Valley region of France. It is best known for producing the refreshing white wine called Muscadet.

The Melon de Bourgogne grape is almost exclusively grown in France where it is synonymous with the Muscadet appellation in the Loire Valley region. 

Melon de Bourgogne is also grown in other wine regions such as Washington and the Willamette Valley in Oregon. 

Characteristics

Melon de Bourgogne tends to produce crisp and refreshing white wines with a bright acidity. On the nose, these wines have a delicate aroma profile, featuring notes of green apples, lemon zest, and hints of minerality.

On the palate, Melon de Bourgogne wines are characterised by their acidity, which provides a clean and crisp mouthfeel. The wines are also known for their subtle flavour profile with a range of flavours that can include green apples, lemon, and a mineral finish.
