Cereza is a pink-skinned, white Argentine wine grape variety that takes its name from the Spanish word for "cherry." It is mostly found in Argentina with some cultivation in Chile, and it produces deeply coloured white and rosé wines that are usually intended for early consumption.
Cereza cultivation is almost exclusive to Argentina where it was once the country's most-planted grape. Today it is mostly found in the San Juan province and eastern Mendoza regions, and to a lesser extent in Catamarca.
A small amount of the grape is also cultivated in Chile where it was also introduced by early Spanish missionaries.
