Buyers fees and payment terms at Wine Auctioneer

At Wine Auctioneer, we are as passionate about our customers as we are about fine wines, and we recognise the fundamental importance in ensuring our customers have confidence and trust in our services. As such, we are committed to providing information on our fees clearly and accurately to help our customers make informed decisions on buying in our auctions.

 

WINE AUCTIONEER'S BUYER FEES:

 

AUCTION FEES

Buying Commission: 15% of the final hammer price.

Please note that if you are within the E.U, 20% Value Added Tax (VAT) is applicable and charged to the commission, delivery and surcharges. VAT is not applicable to the hammer price of the wine.

Please note that VAT may be applicable on charges, including additional charges such as, but not limited to; Registration fees, Listing fees and Reserve Fees. 

ADDITIONAL FEES

Non-EEA Credit Card Surcharge: 3% on credit card payments from buyers outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Local taxation and custom charges:  Please note that local taxation and customs charges may apply  and the Buyer is responsible for both understanding and paying for any local taxation or custom charges if applicable. 

(Optional) Loss & Breakage Assurance: 3% of the total value of all lots included in your order. Learn more about our Loss & Breakage Assurance here.

BUYERS' PAYMENT TERMS

Wine Auctioneer's payment window for buyers is three days  (72 hours) from close of auction. If payment for an order is not received within this 3 day window, a late payment charge of 3% of the total balance outstanding will be added to the order. 

Late Payment Fee: 3% of the total order balance outstanding 72 hours (3 days) following close of auction. 

FAQs

Do I have to pay VAT?

If you are within the EU, 20% Value Added Tax (VAT) is applicable to all fees and surcharges.

Delivery charges are subject to VAT.

Please note that VAT is not applicable to the hammer price of the wine.

How long does it take to receive my winning lot(s)?

Your wine order will be dispatched within 7 working days following receipt of payment.

UK orders normally arrive within two days of dispatch.

European orders normally arrive within five days of dispatch.

The rest of the world can vary dependent on location.

If you need an item faster, please let us know and we will try our hardest to meet your expectations!

Can I store items to save on shipping costs at a later date?

Items can be stored with us for combining multiple orders and dispatching at a later date.

Storage charge of 2% +VAT will be applicable for each 90 day storage period, or part thereof.

To arrange shipping at later time of your convenience, simply complete our Ship Stored Orders form and we will add delivery charge to your shopping cart, ready for your payment and our subsequent dispatch of your order(s).
