Chateau La Tour Haut-Brion 1961 Graves Grand-Cru 2x75cl
From the appellation of Graves (classified as Pessac Léognan since 1987), Chateau La Tour Haut-Brion was ranked Grand Cru Classe in the 1959 Classification of Graves. While a Grand Cru in its own right, La Tour Haut-Brion had close relationship with neighbouring estate, Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, and was eventually morphed into the latter following the 2005 vintage.
The small vineyards of La Tour Haut-Brion were planted with 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc and 32% Merlot - ratios to which the wines could have been expected to roughly follow with slight vintage variation; Matured in French Oak barrels for 18-22 months.
