From the appellation of Saint-Julien, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, and frequently regarded as one of the leading "Super Seconds".
Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured for approximately 18 months in 60%-70% new oak.
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is one oldest estates in the Medoc dating back to the 13th century. The 75-hectare vineyard has an average vine age of 35 years, however, Ducru-Beaucaillou also has old vines. Their oldest plot is the Les Sadons parcel was planted all the way back in 1918.
