Château Ausone 2001 St-Emilion 1er-Grand-Cru
Château Ausone has held rank of Premier Grand Cru Classe "A" in each Classification of Saint-Emilion since the qualification's formation in 1959.
The wines are typically a blend of 50 - 60% Cabernet Franc and 40 - 50% Merlot from old vines with an average age of 55+ years, their Cabernet Franc Vines are seriously old at over 100 years of age! Matured for 18 - 24 months, most vintages in 100% new oak.
