Located within the appellation of Saint-Julian, Château Langoa Barton is a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.
Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured for approximately 20 months; 50% new French Oak barrels.
Château Langoa-Barton was the first of two Bordeaux wine estates bought by Hugh Barton in the 1820s, the other being Leoville-Barton, a 2nd Classified Growth estate. Out of all the 1855 Classified Growths, it is one of the few Chateaux that is still in the hands of the same family that was the owner at the time of the classification.
