Clarendon Hills "Astralis" Syrah 2007 South Australia

100% old-vine Syrah; matured for approximately 18 months in new French Oak barrels.

Clarendon Hills is a small but prominent family-run winery. It was founded in 1989 by biochemist Roman Bratasiuk, who arrived in Australia from the Ukraine in 1950. Wines from Clarendon Hill are varietal expressions, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. They are arranged into a cru-like classification, influenced by Roman Bratasiuk's love for France.
