Pian Dei Mercatali 1984 Brunello di Montalcino
100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan town of Montalcino.
Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years before release.
Brunello di Montalcino is regarded as one of Italy’s best appellations, it was the first Italian wine to obtain the Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin. It is produced in the province of Siena, exclusively within the boundaries of the municipal territory of Montalcino, with the grapes of the Sangiovese vine only, locally called "Brunello".
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
