Old vine Tinta del País (aka Tempranillo) dominant blend from the Northwestern Spanish DO of Ribera Del Duero; Aged for 12 months in French & American oak.
Ribera del Duero is located in Castilla y León, approximately two hours north of Madrid. It achieved D.O. status in 1982 and is one of Spain’s main wine regions, but the total production area is only a third of that of Rioja. Tempranillo accounts for over 75% of the production in the region along with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Garnacha. Only one white grape is grown here; Albillo.
A blend of; Tinta del País (Tempranillo) and (90%) Cabernet Sauvignon (10%)
