Matsu "El Viejo" 2015 Toro

Old-vine Tinta De Toro (aka Tempranillo) from the Toro region in north-western Spain, matured for a period of 16 months in French Oak barrels; Aged for 16 months in new French oak.

Matsu, which in Japanese means waiting, is a tribute to all the winegrowers who, for generations, have worked the vineyard dedicating their effort, wisdom, respect and sacrifice.

Toro is a predominantly red-wine region in Castilla y Leon, north-western Spain. It is situated in the province of Zamora, west of the Rueda and Ribera del Duero wine appellations, and in the Spanish Duero river valley near the Portuguese border. Most wines from Toro are made from the Tinta De Toro grape which is a clone of Tempranillo, the region's law dictates that all Toro wines must contain at least 75 percent Tinta del Toro.
