Chateau Leoville Las Cases 1961 St-Julien 2eme-Cru

From the Saint-Julien appellation, Chateau Leoville Las Cases is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Léoville-Las Cases was once part of a much larger estate until the time of the French Revolution when a portion was separated into what is today Château Léoville-Barton. In 1840, the estate was again divided and the land that would eventually become Château Léoville-Poyferré was split off. Since the mid 20th century the Delon family have been owners of this estate who are also owners of châteaux Potensac and Nénin.

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured in French Oak barrels for approximately 18-20 months in oak barrels of which up to 90% are new each year.
