La Rioja Alta "Viña Arana" 1987 Rioja Reserva 4x75cl
In 1890, 5 families from the north of Spain, each passionate about wines, established the Sociedad Vinícola de La Rioja Alta - The Wine Society of the Rioja Alta. A few years later, in 1904, one of these founding-members proposed the merger of his Ardanza winery with the society and thus the creation of La Rioja Alta S.A.
Tempranillo dominant blend with small volumes of Graciano and Mazuelo; as a Reserva classification, this wine was first rested for 6 months in large oak vats, then blended and transferred to American Oak barrels for a further 3.5 years of maturation before bottling in December 1991.
