Cockburn's 1960 Port / Assumed Vintage Port

Vintage Port is a specific style of Ruby Port which is made only in exceptional years and from the ripest grapes.  The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character.  Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades.

This bottle is a bit of a mystery.  The label is not that of an official Cockburn's release, which in itself is not unusual; but that the label further does not identify any shipper or retail merchant leans heavily on anonymity.  We naturally assume this to be a Vintage Port, although the bottle could equally be a Colheita.

Important Notice

We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.

Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
