Kopke 1977 Colheita Port
This bottle can be identified as a Tawny by the extended period of maturation, beyond even the time a Late Bottled Vintage (Ruby) Port would spend in oak; the vintage statement further identifies the bottle as a Colheita (Tawny Port from a specific vintage).
Colheita Port is similar to Vintage Port in that it is produced from the crop of a single exceptional year. However, while Vintage Ports spend only a brief 2 years in large oak vats and the majority of their ageing in bottle, Colheita Ports are matured exclusively in smaller oak barrels for as many years as the producer deems necessary.
1977 vintage, bottled in 1991.
This bottle is in excellent condition: label & foil/wax seal intact; cork/closure secure, no leakage.
We would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids. If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please contact us for a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen in the images.
Please note: Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
